What Happened to Richard Skinner on Homer?

Richard Skinner, the only local morning sports talk host, has been fired by Clear Channel's WCKY-AM (1530 Homer). He was told after his show this morning. His name and blog have been removed from the station's web site.
Dave Armbruster, Homer program director, says Tim Lewis -- the "Big Dog" from old WBOB-AM who has been doing overnight WLW-AM news -- will take over 5:30-9 a.m. Tuesday. Gregg Doyel, a writer from CBS Sportsline frequently heard on Lance McAlister's afternoon show, will host 9 a.m. to noon with Mo Egger, a Homer sports talk producer and frequent fill-in.
Armbruster says the changes were made to increase ratings. "It was time to change directions."
For 10 years, Skinner was half of the "Two Angry Guys" with Tom Gamble on WBOB, WSAI-AM and WCKY-AM. He had been working solo since November, when WLW-AM fired Andy Furman.

I don't get it. The Two Angry Guys were great. Then they removed one and it wasn't the same, and now they fire Skinner. Seems like they had lightning in a bottle, then decided to mess with it.

What about Sunday Morning Sportstalk on WLW?

Mo & Doyle=bad radio

The return of the Big Dog... yes! I remember when his show first premiered and it changed the way I listened to sports radio.

I hope the release of Skinner is a precursor to a Two Angry Guys reunion on Supertalk 96.5. He and Gamble were best when together.

Hey Armbruster, way to go...I am officially done with 1530. Boost ratings? And you plan on accomplishing that with Doyle and Mo? Gimme a break! Bad radio has been redefined.

Will Skinner be on Sunday mornings with Gambel? What is going on with THAT sports talk show.

I heard Alan Culter was on Sun AM and IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE RADIO. The two angry guys may whine but are more entertaining than Culter. I can not STAND HIM.

What is the deal with Clear Channel...ruining ALL LOCAL RADIO.

I HATE that stupid Mutual Fund show on Saturday mornings....Man, oh, man.

Mo Egger are you kidding me. I maybe done with 1530.

at 5/21/2007 12:36 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

Skinner was not nearly as good alone as he is on the 2 angry guys.
His incessant vendetta on Jerry Narron was unlistenable this morning.
Doyle will do a good job but Mo needs seasoning in the minors. Too much ego.
Good try Homer

It's a great day to be a Buckeye! Not so good if you work on radio...My daily wisdom will have to be bestowed upon the lovely and talented Mo. Perhaps Mike from Fairfield and I will start our own show.

I am not happy at all. Clear Channel execs are a bunch of liberal whach jobs. Time to visit the establishment

That is shocking. He must have done something behind the scenes to tick someone off. I liked listening to him.

I am just glad they did not hire Tiger.

On my morning commute I used to flip back and forth between Skinner on 1530 and Brian Thomas and John Phillips on 55krc. Thanks to Dave Arbruster for solving my problem. Maybe after Arbruster drives 1530 even further down the toilet clear channel will put him back in a little room watching monitors of traffic.

The two angry guys were great. It dropped a little when Gamble left but those two together were the voice of the frustrated fans.

Maybe Richard Skinner can have one of Doc's "two full time jobs." Lord knows, I'm tired of hearing about it already.

at 5/21/2007 1:29 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

Clear Channel has dipped to a new low. Things started on the downhill slide when they fired Furman. Like him or not, that upset the apple cart. They play re-runs of Cunningham on weekend nights, and now a paid program on Saturday Mornings?? If I were anyone else at the Kenwood Death Star......watch your back.

at 5/21/2007 1:30 PM Blogger Wayman said...

I hated the national radio show they had on from 10-noon, but Mo Egger is horrendous to listen to. Anytime I heard him on, I immediately switched channels. I'm sure Lance is the next to go. Eventually 96.5 will take over all the ratings 1530 use to have. Why bother going to a more powerful station, only to bring in guys with less talent? Seems like some the decision makers are the ones who need to lose their jobs.

at 5/21/2007 1:31 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

I guess Sunday Morning Sports Talk will become Cutler's. Guess it's easier to pay him mileage from Lexington than Gamble and Skinner. BAD RADIO!!

at 5/21/2007 1:32 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

Lewis had better watch himself too. The first time he talks Pro Wrestling.....Armbruster gives him the boot too!!!!

at 5/21/2007 1:32 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

The sound you will soon be hearing is the sound of over 5,000 car radio buttons being changed at the same time off of 1530HOMER. Bad decision as per the norm from ClearChannel these days.

I'm not surprised. All Skinner ever did was praise his boy up in Clifton. UC will be lucky to win two games next year. But you guys, yeah you guys ack like Mick is a good coach.

at 5/21/2007 1:35 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

Man this is a joke. 1530 really sucks now. I woulkd rather cut myself with razor blades then listen to Mo tell bad jokes and the big dog laugh at himself. The Lewis guy was bad years ago and I caught him for about 5 minutes a few weeks ago and he was even worse. Maybe Skinny can hook up with another channel because in my mind he was the best on that station. Lance is ok but he is a little on the geeky side and is not familiar enough with all of the different sports.

at 5/21/2007 1:35 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

You guys are the ones responsible...first you defend your guy up there in Clifton and now this. Yeah, you guys.

I'm good with this decision. Skinner never liked the NBA and the lack of love for the NBA in this town is a conspiracy.

Gotta wonder if it had anything to do with the "This is why you suck" clip played over and over and over again this morning :-)

Horrible move. Mo Egger is the bosses' butt buddy, so thats why he got a spot on the show. Note to Darryl Parks, et al.: No one likes Mo Egger.

Forget it. I'm done with Homer. I hope Skinner, and in turn Gamble, go to 96.5 Supertalk. Keep firing all your good talent, ClearChannel. Furman and Karrie love it.

at 5/21/2007 2:27 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

1530 Homer could save a ton of money and just let a rotating group of fans do these shows for free. You'd get the same whining, woe-is-me subject matter we get now. Why was Skinner so frustrated the Reds are playing bad? He gets paid whether they win or lose. It's his job. Sure will miss Skinner making fun of Narron saying he's a "baseball guy" (why is that funny?) and former GM Dan O'Brien for reading a list, albiet lengthy, of people he wished to thank (again, funny why?). Deliver me from the name-calling, whining, and romper room fandom. Hire a professional sports talk show host to do the job right.

For me Skinner was like a cigarette. I disagreed with 90% of what came out of his mouth but for some reason I just couldn't stop listening to him. Every day I found myself turning 1530 back on and enjoying it.

I am VERY VERY happy to not have Tony Bruno on anymore. For the last few months I've been listening to silence while I work from 10-12.

The best ever was The Fish Paul Sturgeon and he's back on 96.5. If Skinner and Gamble go to 96.5, they would beat 1530 like a drum.

Imagine if 96.5 were to hire Skinny and Gamble to do mid-mornings (9-noon) on their station.

They'd devour Mo and Doyle alive.

Richard has gone down hill since Tom Gamble left. His constant bashing of the Reds and their Manager was getting old, not to mention the heavy breathing Bob from St. Bernard calling every morning and saying the same old thing. I think most of the local Clear Channel shows are getting tired and this is a good example. They are all tired - 700, 550 and now 1530. What a waste of 50,000 watts of power. Alan Cutler is not the answer either. Nor is Moe. Wow what a radio personality - Moe. I want to know when in the hell are they going to dismiss Jim Scott Fitzgerald on 700? Consolidation has killed local radio as we know it today.

Speaking of local radio and whether its good or not, what about that stupid "after innings" show on the weekends with Tracy Jones. His calls are getting just plain weird, not to mention his goofy website. Think about something in place of that nut!!

Why is everyone complaining that all he ever did was bash the Reds? What was he supposed to do? Have you all noticed how bad they are? I guess it unfortunate he wasn't as fooled by the Reds play as most of you seem to be.

Let the Big Dog eat! Back in time for a Jazz championship! Finally queerchannel does something right. 2 angry's were great together, but stunk apart. I couldn't figure out why the Big Dog didn't get Doc's job instead of the overnight news. Now bring back the Fish, and Art Schlister, and you'll recreate 2 of the best defunct stations, 1160 BOB, and the old 1360 from the early 90's

at 5/21/2007 4:19 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

This move is surprising, but not surprising. Tim Lewis is a great replacement. Do you think the Reds may have called Management, and said "Hey cool it, Richard is killing us" One thing that Richard did that drove me nutty was constantly saying "Producer Paul, Producer Paul". That was so lame. Paul who? Like we all know the guy!! Get something on the air that does not constantly bash. I dont care is the Reds finish 50 games under .500, but I cant stand the bashing. It was getting old.

at 5/21/2007 4:21 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

Fish, the best ever? Come on Paul, be smarter than to post something patting yourself on the back? Why haven't you/he had a job in radio for 2-3 years if he "was the best ever"? Skinner and Gamble on 96.5 makes sense. Fish is just to fill wasted weekend air time, similar to what will be on from 5:30am until noon now on 1530. What a disaster Cincinnati radio has become, especially the sports talk part of it.

at 5/21/2007 4:23 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

To Wayward - Yes it was ok for Richard to get on the Reds or whatever. But after 3 hours of the same stuff, it got old, even though I agreed with him. After awhile its like give it a rest. Then Bob from St. Bernard would call him and swish his false teeth and breathe heavy on the phone and it was like --- hurry change the dial!! Whew ,not good radio.

at 5/21/2007 4:24 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

I enjoyed listening to Sports in the morning with the Angry Guys. However, Skinner was so bad alone, I switched to WEBN. I don't know much about Lewis, but I'll come back and give him a shot.

at 5/21/2007 4:31 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think what bugs me most about the ripping on the Reds is, it gets old. I am a fan, but at this point, I don't care enough to listen to people bit@h and moan for 3 hours. I don't even enjoy Marty ripping them either. To me, it is an instant turn off the radio message. If Marty is so put out by their bad play, why would I waste my time with them too? So I don't.

One look at Egger's blog tell you what we'll get....

He's got a picture of a high school senior athlete (female) on his blog and is obviously drooling over it. (It doesn't matter that she's 18 as claimed... she's a freaking teenager still in high school!)

Same as Lance..... can't talk about sports, so reel 'em in with sex.

Sad........

at 5/21/2007 5:11 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

Royalties? Doubt the 1530 talent got much royalties in the first place, but I could be wrong.

As for the Two Angries: they were good together, but just weren't the same solo.

I had gotten tired of the whining some time back and started listening to Mike and Mike on 1450, then going back to Homer to hear an occasional Reds discussion. But the whining sent me back to Mike and Mike.

Let's see if the Big Dog still has it after not having a regular sports talk gig here since the BOB days! Will he bring back "Bite Me Wednesday?" I wish him luck.

Hey Yidman, listen really closely tomorrow morning. That sound you hear is me listening to any channel but 1530. To fire Skinny is one thing, but to give Mo air time is beyond ridiculous. Mo sounds like Bobcat Goldwait, and that is bad radio.

I am not sure why Skinner got fired, but it can't be because of his whining or negative spin on things. Mo is 10 times worse when it comes to whining, and Doyle will just say dumb things to stir it up. Check out any of his articles on CBSsportsline, and see how many people he pisses off.

mo is brutal to listen to. Far too emphatic when he talks. It's like having that loud obnoxious guy at the bar who's smoked and speaks have chewed peanuts in your face while tries to tell you what a great athlete he was in grammer school. 1530 Homer went from a descent sports talk show in the morning with Richard Skinner to a total DUD! There rating will drop faster than the Titanic. Whoever made the decision at Clear Channel is an idiot and he should be fired. Please get rid of Skinny's current replacement. He's horrible. He talks too slow and sounds like his show is not prepared. Time to go back to Sirius Radio in the morning.

Skinny was doing a good job but he got off track and pulled the lance act of talking about anything but sports too often. It's to bad he lost his job but his ratings were in the toilet. I would audtion local amateurs and let the best man get the gig, can't be any worse than what's on now.

Ummmm in what way in he!! would this be a good move for 1530? People liked him and now that he's gone, their listening audience just halved. I was mad when Furman got fired and now Skinner.... This is just sad. I like radio but Clear Channel is trying their hardest to make it unlistenable.

Also with his crap with Andy/Opie show being suspended....there's some serious issues with radio nowadays. I think it's Clear Channel having a monopoly over everything to blame for it.

at 5/22/2007 8:24 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

Richard Skinner was just sub par. His constant poor acting job of playing devils advocate all the time with Tom was so horrible and not believable at all. And when alone on the air, the realization of just how boring he was came to forefront. Obviously there were people who felt the same, thus the poor ratings.

I don't think Lewis will be in there very long either. His love of the NBA will not fly in this city. I know as a listener I turn these shows off whenever they start with the NBA talk. There is a very minimal amount of interest in that sport in this town....

at 5/22/2007 9:41 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'll be moving over to Mike and Mike in the morning. Nothing against Tim Lewis, but Richard had many facts and created much discussion and controversy....not madness like Furman. I'm glad you fired him.

Man, this sucks. Right after the station rejoices in the fact that Skinny finally updates his blog, they can him! This was a bad move for 1530 and clear channel and I will officially remove them from my preset tomorrow. If it was for ratings, why not bring back Gamble with Skinny in the morning since he didn't take the 700wlw job? Something else was at work here anh hopefully they both end up woking elsewhere...together!!

As long as Clear Channel is cleaning house, I hope they don't forget to fire:

Fast talking Jim Scott with his interviews where he never says hello or good bye to the person he is interviewing.
Gary Burbank - This clown is VERY funny, but Gary your show is so tired they need to close it down.
Brad, I just love myself, Johanson and Dave, I talk way to much, Lapham. How about this novel concept. Get some professional announcers for the football games and stop with the yelling like 14 1/2 year olds.

I actually think Lewis is WAY better than Skinner. First off, he doesn't feel the need to compensate for his lack of vocal ability by over-amping his mic so we listeners get that tinny-whistling sound. I never got how that made any of those guys sound any better, really. Second, while Lewis discusses the Red's shortcomings, at least it hasn't devolved into the level of vitriol that Skinny's show had. Don't get me wrong, I am as disappointed with the Red's as anyone else, but they are what they are, and getting personal and nasty about it isn't changing anything. Third, I am no fan at all of the NBA, I really don't like basketball much at all, but I am at least mildly interested in what Lewis has to say about the playoff games.
I was one who thought Mo sucked big time, so I was skeptical about him hosting with Doyel. But see my comments above about the "over-amped microphone". Now that he is with Doyel, I noticed that is gone from him too. He actually sounds decent to listen to without it. Time will tell how well these guys do. It's just too early to tell.
I'm not sure whether I miss the two whiney guys, Tom Grumble and Richard Whiner or not. Sometimes they were entertaining to listen to, while others, they just weren't.

Well you're in the minority there, because as it says, back in November they were rated pretty high. Then ClearChannel decided to mess with it and now they're worse off.

I very dissapointed in this move, my morning radio will be tuned elsewhere. Skinny did a great job even after Tom left. I just don't see myself listening to the Tim Lewis (Jim Rome wannabe) show. Bad move...

I don't have anything against the crop of new guys. It's just the thought that what will they do that Richard won't?

I'm also surprised they didn't try to "recreate" the angry guy magic by pairing one of the new guys (Mo?) with Richard instead.

I gotta give Tom Gamble kudos for turning down the solo job in his partner's time slot.

Note to all the whiners out there -try to be a program director of a sports talk station when there isn't any talent in the tri state area to choose from.

Calm down, Yiddy. You did what you had to do.

4:13....

Right on the money!

There is a reason why Furman resorts to changing his opinion in mid-show, Gamble did nothing but gripe about weather forecasting, Skinner gripes about the flip side to anything positive, and McAlister drools over any female that has ever smiled at him.

When you sort through all the junk, the level of sports knowledge of these guys is minimal at best.

They can't keep the listener tuned for the subject at hand (sports) so they resort to garbage to keep people tuned..........

Jerry Springer made a mint doing this.

Not only is Skinny great on the radio, but he's a helluva nice guy. And, he really loves sports. It not an act like some guys. Mo on the other hand has the personality of boiled chicken, and his radio persona is just bad.

The only thing clear about this channel(1530) is that the preset is now gone.
I will follow Skinner and hope the 2 Angry Guys reunite!

Question: I wonder......how many 96.5 employees does it take to post on a blog page?

Answer: All of them.....plus they are the only listeners that station has.....I know I sure don't listen.....

To Anon 5/23 4:13pm.
You know the problem - then go out and get some talent. That is the reall problem with Cincinnati radio. Everybody is local!!! Look at the two football announcers. Brad is dork, Dave talks to much and is way over the top, Jim Scott should go back to the farm, turn off Burbank because that show is soooooooooooooo tired and while his humor is good, its tired and on and on and on and on. Lance on 1360 is nothing more than an over grown kid having fun and nobody cares. That station is 50,000 watts for Gods sake, get some talent!!! How about that goof Cunningham. Now that Furman left 700, they dont have Scott Sloan doing Randy Furman. Instead he is trying to act like someone else and they yell and scream and in typical 700 fahsion, they think its just sooooooooo funny. Well, it sucks!!!

Great move! The two Angry Guys were a joke and neither one of them are/were good on their own. For those of you already crying about Tim Lewis.....give him time. You will grow to enjoy him. Clear Channel needs to make another move and get rid of Alan Cutler. I refuse to listen to that bozo he has ruined local sports talk for me. He thinks he knows alot more tha n he actually knows. What a joke.
Welcome Back Big Dog!

Tim Lewis is boring. He hardly talks sports and he hardly take any calls from the listeners. Bring back the 2 Angry Guys or I'll find a new station.

at 5/24/2007 9:51 AM Anonymous Anonymous said...

If you will recall....

Tim Lewis already had a chance and he got bounced. What makes anyone think he's gotten any better?

The last two days answered the question above.........

Who's next?

Radio in Cincinnati. Think about this. We have a guy "ripping and reading" news wire stories throughout the night, then runs down the hall and does a sports talk show from 5:30 to 9:00. That is strange. Tim, sorry buddy, but you are not the answer to the 1530 ratings problems. Then those horrible clowns that come on at 9:00. Maybe Dennis Walker was not that bad afterall, as long as he did not talk about Pete Rose, he was not bad. But seriously, anyone who named their kid Petey after Pete Rose may have some serious issues in their life.

Two Angry Guys were great and Skinner was growing on me as he made the morning show his own..but now...I have moved over to the lame shows on WLW and WKRC and even listening to 'music?' now in the morning. Bring those guys back..they were the best sports duo I've ever heard be it in Cincinnati, or when I lived in Indy or even in Boston..they were local faves and new the town, the people and where one thing that the current guy is not..ENTERTAINING. Clearchannel is one thing too...STUPID.

Replacing the hilarious and well informed 2 Angry Guys with this level of boredom (Lewis) and idiocy (Doyel) doesn't have any logical foundation. Check out the hate mail that Doyel regularly gets at CBS Sportsline. Nobody likes this guy, and you put him on the radio??? Moe, ehh....not for or against, but the other 2.....abysmal. 1530 removed from my presets for being run by incompetent businessmen.

nick from cleves,
I hope they do not put Allen "The Mesiah"Cutler on sunday morning sports talk, I think he is an obnoxious jerk. Clear Channel has there head in the sand if they don't think this is an absolute disaster. And for Mack " I love the guy in Clifton".

at 5/24/2007 9:36 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

I've never seen so many small town, backwards, popmpous, cheap jerks, in all my life. Skinner is just one of many in this very stubborn and lost land of people. Everyone in this embittered populace spews what their mommies and daddies use to preach to them. But, then again, every other country bumpkin is the same way. Maybe this is why America can't properly address poverty. It's not just people who are economically poor, the figure is doubled when a place like Cincinnati is accounted for.

I thought Skinny was on vacation or something. These new guys suck, and I never liked Mo. Who is on 96.5 in the morning?

I have to believe the Reds front office had this done.

at 5/26/2007 4:56 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

It's too bad they couldn't figure out a way to keep them all. The Angry Guys would be better in place of this Mo and Doyle show, and the Big Dog will be solid in mornings.
The Big Dog was awesome back in the day. It sounds like he is getting minimal help. None of his trademark sound FX and music, etc. He is taking way more calls than Skinny ever did, and there are a lot of new ones. I say to those of you slamming Tim...wait until he gets up and running. His was the best show in the 90's bar none. I am grateful for Clear Channel bringing him back. Let the Big Dog Eat!!

Are you kidding me? Good luck with keeping your listeners. In case you haven't been listening Moe doesn't allow the caller to say more than 4 words before he goes off on a 5 minute rant and rave.

Doyle is so in love with himself and his own opinions that he doesn't even listen to what callers have to say.

Great formula you have created for sports talk radio on 1530 homer. Guess I don't have to tune in now except to hear Lance. Or until you fire Lance for some other slug.

Skinny, you deserved better and I hope to hear you on another local channel soon.

I LOVE to listen to sports talk...and I love the two angry guys!! They were the best on radio. Even when Tom wasn't on, I loved to listen to Richard! I listened every morning on my way to work on 1530.
I really hope they do get back on the radio soon. It would be GREAT to hear them on 96.5! Besides the ballgames and the Tracy Jones show, I have no reason to tune into 700wlw or 1530 from now on. Sports talk won't be the same until they get back on the air! Waiting anxiously...

I hope to god they fire lance so we don't have to listen to him whine and talk about things that don't even pertain to sports!

I just would like to see some kind of real comment from CC for their reasons. Everyone has their opinions about radio, but in baseball season there isn't much to say that's positive. Attendance of the games and the Reds record proves that point. Skinner just tried to reflect the view point of the majority of sports fans of Cincinnati. The overwhelming thoughts from people who care, are fed up with the Reds. I'll give you that Skinner was only really harsh on Narron, but many times Narron brings it on himself. Many times he stated to be a fan of the GMs moves to improve the team. While questioning what they were thinking by signing Staton and Coffee (now in Louisville) to long term contracts. He just called things as he saw them and CC shouldn't terminate based on that premise. He didn't do anything off color to attract non-PC pressures to CC (i.e. Imus issue). I agree with other opinions here that the Reds must have intervened. I don't know with what leverage though, 700 has the rights to broadcast the games. It's pretty clear that CC is trying to get non-opinionated personnalities on the air so not to ruffle any feathers. Too bad. The station is slowly becoming a "yes man" station.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was a result of pressure from the local sports teams (Reds and Bengals) to quiet the pointed comments and questioning about their organizations and coaches, managers, general mangers and owners. It was a pleasure listening to Richard every morning and to hear him say what was on the minds of every good sports fan in the area. I personally will change my listening choice and will anxiously look forward to Richard and Tom reappearing.

Terrible move Homer. And Mo Egger....you must be kidding? That truly is an insult to serious listeners.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks this was a good move. Skinner's act was getting old, how long can you really be continuously pissed? It was all an act. At 7:00 am, the last thing I need is some jerk puting me in a bad mood with all his depressing BS. Doyle is a national writer, something the Angries never were. They were second rate hacks who started out on ICN channel 6 with DON WEBBER of all people. Good riddance.

Just like our sports teams, sports radio is going down hill. Lance is a tool and a dork, Tim bores me to death, I can tolerate Moe, talk about someone whose act is getting old -Jim Rome, Andy "I'm nice now" Fuhrman is boring as well. I liked listening to Tom and Richard moan and complain. They pulled no punched is saying just how bad things are. They would reap praise on the few occasions that it has been warranted.

Having the two angry guys in the morning, and McAlister in the evening were my daily highlights. Only one left now. I can't stand the new guys they have on.

Obviously Skinner and Gamble were negative because they had nothing positive to talk about. I remember very early in the season they had hope and said good things about the Reds. Then we got to the third week and.....

I'd love to find out where Gamble and Skinner are right now.

As I wrote in my "More Of The Two Angry Guys" blog last week, I expect them to lay low for 6 months, and then do mornings on SupertalkFM96.5 by the end of the year. That's what I keep hearing.

at 5/31/2007 10:44 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

The Big Dog hasn't impressed me yet. Maybe he should go back to reading script on 700. Mo wasn't even good when filling in for Lance, and now he has his own show? I've got an idea, why don't they just run public service announcements or the old songs from School House Rock during Mo & Greg Doyle's slot! Might be better!

It was a terrible decision to get rid of the Two Angry Guys in the mornings. Tom and Richard were a joy to listen to in the mornings and made commuting into work enjoyable. I would actually leave the house early in the mornings just to hear the opening comments at 6:07am. I have now resorted to listening to music in the mornings. Let me repeat...this was a terrible decision.

Mo is Bad, Paul is bad, Alan says the same crap everytime he is behind the Mic, and Alan cant say the CALL LETTERS RIGHT, whats so hard about saying WLW... I like Gary Burjank lol, but he likes too interupt everyone, Even When Seg is doing sports, I like Jim Scott, he is awesome, Mike M. He gets down to the point.. Willy Cunningham is A WISE MAN,,, he should run for President... Gary Burbank well you seen what i typed, THE BEST MOVE OF ALL IS WHEN MARTY'S BOY GOT HIRED TO DO REDS BASEBALL,,,, how awesome is that.... welllll thats it..

Richard Skinner will be missed. In my opinion, he did his research on topical sports issues and events and many times made me think in ways I perhaps had not previously considered about a particular issue. I didn't always agree with him, but I always valued his opinions and insights on a particular subject..

I guess in this city only Marty Brennaman has the right to strongly voice an opinion that runs counter to the establishment's position. Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the fact Marty is allowed to speak his mind -- and certainly he's earned that right -- but others in this city who are paid to articulate opinions -- should have that right as well. As long as those opinions are well-conceived, reasoned and balanced. And frankly, I always felt Skinner's opinion passed this litmus test.

When I hear of terminations of this nature, I thank God I escaped the corporate world before being sucked into the extablishment-centric vortex of corporate happy speak!

Mo and Egger have no chemistry. Its clear they don't like each other very much, and this flavors the entire show. They might do OK if they were paired with, I don't know, someone they remotely like.

Skinner did go down a bit after Tom left, but he was finding his own. I do wish he had more structure to his show but I'm sure he will learn from this experience and come back better than ever.

I will certainly tune in to the Angry Guys when they reunite. If they end up on 96.5 it will be the first time I've ever listened to that station.

I predict Mo and Egger last a year before quietly going away, replaced by a nationally syndicated show.

One thing that bothers me about Mo and Egger is their constant referencing of Skinner. C'mon, get over it. Richard had fans and no, its not all of his family posting comments about how much they don't like you--all you have to do to understand how much people don't like Doyle is look at his CBS posts. If you have any chance of succeeding, move on and never mention the past again.
