ESPN Radio and TV Here Monday

ESPN Radio listeners likely will hear plenty about Cincinnati and the Bengals Monday before the Bengals-Patriots "Monday Night Football" game (8:30 p.m., ESPN and Channel 12).

"MNF" announcer Mike Tirico will do his national radio show from here 1-3 p.m. Monday. Tirico, one of the original ESPN Radio hosts for its launch in 1992, took over Dan Patrick's afternoon slot last week.

John Seibel also will broadcast his afternoon drive "SportsBash" 4-6:30 p.m. from Cincinnati. Seibel, born in the Dayton suburb of Englewood, has been with ESPN since 2000.

And speaking of Dan Patrick: He debuts his new syndicated talk show 9 a.m.-noon on Monday as an audio stream on his new website http://www.danpatrick.com/ I haven't heard of any local station picking it up yet.

Seibel is terrible. He could learn from Lance McAllister. His monologues are terrible. They go nowhere, don't get me fired up, one way or another, no passion. I tune him out and change channels if he does not have a guest on. 4:15-4:45 is a terrible listen.

His interviews are Jeff Piecoroesque though. He gives his opinion and asks his guest to agree with him.

While they are here I hope the local goof balls see what quality radio is like, but I doubt it

How bad of a show do you have to put on for most people to say I would rather have national sports talk than local. Example number 1, 6am to 12noon on 1530, that is how bad. I gave it a chance and feel it is more unlistenable now than it was when it first began. Here's hoping that the new Clear Channel owners either pay some real talent or sell the damn station, because it is embarrassing that is the best they can give the listeners.

to 10/01 9:52am. You are correct. Both 1360 and 1530 have gone downhill in the last several months. As for 1530, I cant believe 50,000 watt station can be so bad. As for 1360 its almost like they dont know what to do with it. The only good talent on the station is Lance 3-6 and rome 12-3 and thats it. Or look at it like this - The state University is not even talked about or put on locally except some 50 watt FMer in Brown County and we have Kentucky and Louisville - who cares! On 1530 all they talk about is Reds, Bengals, and their silly axx blogs!

I hate to bash homeboys, but Siebel is awful and Dan Patrick's talent is doing highlights ala SportsCenter. His radio show is watching grass grow.
