ABC Game Show Audition Saturday

Listen up, trivia experts: ABC’s new "Duel" prime-time trivia game show is coming to Dayton Saturday for a regional opening casting call.

Up to 2,000 people will be seen at the Mall at Fairfield Commons off I-675 east of Dayton in Beavercreek between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., says casting director Michael Yates. Auditions are being held in only three cities -- Las Vegas, Orlando and Dayton -- so a trip to Dayton might be worth your time Saturday.

"We chose Dayton because it's centrally located. It's 90 minutes away from Cincinnati, Columbus and Indianapolis, and represents such a good cross-section of the country," Yates says. It's also Yates hometown: He grew up in Centerville.

Based on a popular French TV show, contestants will go head-to-head answering pop culture, history, geography and literature questions, Yates says. He also has done casting for ""Deal or No Deal," "1 vs. 1oo" and "Big Brother."

ABC has ordered 10 episodes. It may premiere in December as a two-week prime-time TV event, similar to the launch of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire," Yates says.

Contestants must be at least 18, and able to spend two weeks in Los Angeles for the taping, he says. You can also apply by going to www.abc.com and clicking on “casting” at the bottom of the home page, or by calling the Single Shot Productions casting department at 1-866-633-2408.
