Channel 12's NCAA Thursday Lineup

As expected, WKRC-TV (Channel 12) tips off the NCAA men's basketball tourmament with Xavier University at 12:20 p.m. Thursday. All four CBS games on Channel 12 will be broadcast in HDTV.

Here's the Thursday lineup I just got from Channel 12:

Noon: Pregame show
12:30 p.m.: Xavier-Georgia
2:30 p.m.: Kentucky-Marquette
7 p.m. Pregame show
7:10 p.m.: USC-Kansas State
9:40 p.m.: Notre Dame-George Mason.

Dayton's WHIO-TV (Channel 7) lineup will be released Wednesday. Channel 7 tentatively plans to carry Kent State-UNLV at 2:45 (instead of UK), and may carry Wisconsin-Cal State Fullerton as the late game (instead of Notre Dame). I'll update tomorrow.

Hey John, If enough people called and asked them to show Huggins and West Virginia as the late game, do you think it would do any good?

Channel 12's argument that CBS requires the same thing on their analog and digital channels just doesn't hold water. It's nothing more than a cop-out to avoid the extra work. WLTX in Columbia, SC doesn't seem to have a problem, they'll be showing every game between their analog channel and three digitals (including one in HD). Check out
"http://www.wltx.com/FYI/story.aspx?storyid=59834">their schedule
.

i live in union twp. clermont county, and noticed that whio is now on the hd digital receiver (channel 17); at least that's what the info bar says,
but it's actually one of cet's
channels.
i wonder if twcinci is planning to
carry whio during the ncaa?
the digital boxes that i also have (not hd) do not have whio listed anywhere....curious.

Try this to link to the WLTX information -- I wasn't able to get there by the link in chrisirmo's previous comment. This worked for me:

Sure looks like THEY are able to offer every game from every venue! Why can't WKRC?

According to http://www.hdsportsguide.com/img/maps/320-2-prelim-map.pdf, the Kent State game will be on WKRC instead of UK game. Makes sense b/c Kent State is an Ohio team.

To Anon 10:09 p.m.:
CBS originally scheduled the Kent State game for Channel 12 and all Ohio affiliates -- but Channel 12 requested the UK game instead. Dayton's WHIO-TV Channel 7 likely will have Kent State at 2:45 today.

To Anon 3/21:
Re: WHIO
When they don't return four phone calls, or promise to call you back and don't -- there's not much more I can do. In past 10 years this hasn't been a problem. This year, Ch 7 was totally uncooperative.
