Dancing For The Weasels

Those weasels at ABC! Making us wait 56 minutes into the "Dancing With The Stars" results show to update the condition of actor Cristian De La Fuenta, who ended up in the hospital with an arm injury while dancing a samba on Monday's live show.

They kept teasing us all night, before they finally interviewed Cristian in the closing segment during the elmination round. He said his arm injury will require surgery, but doctors say he could continue in the competition if he wanted. So he and partner Cheryl Burke (a two-time champ; she won with Drew Lachey) said they'd stay in the competition. Minutes later, as time ran out, it was announced that actress Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough were going home.

I hate these drawn-out results shows. I usually watch on fast-forward, starting with the last five minutes. That's what I'll do from now on, after getting suckered by ABC into watching the whole hour. What a waste of time.

John, if all you want are results, we all know to tune in at about 3 minutes before the end of the show.

You will miss out on special segments. DanceCenter with Kenny Mayne, Jerry Rice and Len is consistently funny.

Anyone else notice the ABSENCE of a posting asking whether the TV, radio and print media did Matt Maupin and his parents justice by their promotion and coverage.

Seems like a BIG event/topic that might merit some comments from the blog readers........

I agree...they draw this second night out way too much. Could easily be a 30 minute show.

I know to tune in at the end but I foolishly THOUGHT they may give an update sooner.

This is so annoying at this point....But I will set the time and tune in at the last 4 minutes from now on again.

I tuned in every so often to see if I could see Kenny Mayne, etc. He's great. My question is how in the world did Def Leppard get booked as the guest band. They are so far away from ballroom dancing it's ridiculous.

Three letters for ya John - DV and R!! We never watch competiton shows live. Just wait until it's over then scan to the end.

I did scan through part of Idol before going to bed. Paula must have been seeing double or something. That 2nd song thing was too funny...

Def Leppard's performance on the show was so obviously Milli Vanilli.

I've been fan of Def Leppard for decades but was very disappointed. They lip sync-ed and air-guitared through the album version of the songs.

Kenny Mayne should have his own half hour show, once a week, where he makes fun of and completely runs down political figures, celebrities, movies and television shows. And he can start with Countdown with Keith Olbermann.
